The fully balanced, all-triode VK-55SE power amplifier retains all the strengths that make the VK-55 a stellar performer - including the world-class automatic-bias circuit found in BAT's reference REX II Power amplifier--while incorporating the 6H30 SuperTube into a completely revised first gain stage. This is the same tube used in BAT’s REX II models, and provides the VK-55SE with a more transparent, involving reproduction of the musical event. The VK-55SE also employs the same paper-in-oil capacitors used in BAT’s flagship amplifier designs, resulting in more natural and coherent sonics. Finally, the power-supply energy storage is increased to over five times that of the VK-55! 

IMPROVED OUTPUT TUBE AND CURRENT SOURCES

Delivering 55Wpc in the stereo version or a robust 110Wpc as a monoblock, the VK-55SE power amplifier utilizes a 6C33C-B triode output tube that offers many times the current delivery of the 6550 tube used in many traditional tube amplifier designs. The VK-55SE also substantially improves its circuit topology by incorporating vacuum-tube current sources for the first gain stage of its design. Those installed in the VK-55SE provide a more soulful portrayal of harmonic texture and instrumental timbre.  Your recordings will simply sound more alive while simultaneously yielding greater finesse, grace and inner detail.

INTELLIGENT AUTO-BIAS DESIGN THE ICING ON THE CAKE

The VK-55SE’s advanced engineering eliminates traditional headaches associated with most vacuum-tube power amplifiers—specifically, the constant need to set and readjust the proper bias of the output tubes—as the VK-55SE features an intelligent automatic bias design that adjusts for changing line voltage and aging tubes, with each output tube having its own dedicated bias circuit.
